life, lately.

Things are finally feeling like home around here. Mostly. The roads are still unfamiliar, and I haven’t met a  single soul, but I am quite honestly loving the privacy. I may have a very public life online, but there is something about a quiet, peaceful home. Except for the donkeys across the street. They are not quiet, and we all die laughing every time they go at it. But other than that, it’s quiet. Our old house was on a heavily traveled road, and you could actually drive by and see us having dinner (true story, my aunt called the day after valentines and asked how our candle lit dinner was, because she drove by and saw it). Now, we are on a back road atop a hill that sits on five acres. It’s so nice.

Most of the boxes in the house are unpacked. I haven’t touched the guest bedroom or office yet though, and I haven’t hung a single thing on the walls. I feel slightly unsure about doing it, because currently there are NO holes in any of our walls – not even towel racks or toilet paper holders in the bathrooms (unsure how that can be true for a 25 year old home).

We are finding our new normal and getting in a groove. I don’t find myself running up and down the stairs four times at night because I forgot something anymore. Elizabeth hasn’t mentioned “going home” in a couple of days, and is sleeping very well in her new room by herself upstairs (which freaks me out, honestly).

This week, I am hoping to stick to a schedule – get my office set up and begin “working” again. Thank you so much for your patience during this exciting time! I cannot wait to share more with you!

If you follow me on instagram, these may be repeats, but here is a great recap of life lately!

Tuesday

It’s been a whirlwind around here lately. I will admit that I hate the glorification of “busy”, but suffice it to say, we’ve been just that: busy!

My business is exploding before my eyes, which is a true blessing to our family, but combined with the end of semester for school, a huge family milestone I’m excited to announce soon and the calendar which says that within the next two months from today, I will be spending 4 days in Dallas for this event, 4 days in Orlando for this event, 5 days in San Francisco with Shaklee, and that Andrew will be in Texas with the Army for 4-5 weeks, I’m a little overwhelmed… We didn’t realize Andrew would be gone when I booked travel for myself – not that it really matters, I was selected to be part of each of the events, which is a huge honor I just can’t turn down… Thankfully, we have great friends who have offered to keep Bean the few days I’ll be away.

And can I just say that I am READY for spring? The weather here is so wonky. You’ll think it’s spring for a couple of days because it’s in the mid 60s, and then it will snow. And then comes the rain and mud… it’s crazy. No more teasing us, please. I’m ready for the real deal.

So how are you?!? I hope things are peaceful for you. Despite having a lot of places to be and things to do, Andrew & I are super duper excited about our future and some incredible things that are also happening during the next two months. But you have to stay tuned for those.

Before you go thinking I’m some sort of Wonder Woman, I will also be sharing how I handle it all and still manage to have a balanced, healthy home later this week!

XOXO, friends!

monday

One of my favorite things about working from home and running this blog is that I’m able to set my own hours and work when I can! The past 2 weeks haven’t allowed for a whole lot of “work”.

But they have allowed for a whole lot of play, and that is perfectly okay sometimes!

Sometimes you just need to step away in order to refocus! And I would never regret spending a little more time with the reasons I work in the first place!

Little Miss had hand foot and mouth disease all last week. Her blisters are finally almost gone! I am writing an entire post about how we’ve been treating it.

monday2

We’ve also been transitioning from summer to fall. It’s bittersweet. I love summer and fall, but time is just flying way too fast. We cleaned the deck real good one last time before fall and began switching over Elizabeth’s clothes this weekend!

We had a house full or family and friends over pretty much all weekend!

Last week, Andrew & I snuck out on a little date.

monday1

We also had a party for my brother’s 21st. There are always lots of fireworks. I bet there were 7,000 bottle rockets this year! That all of his friends like to destem and set off all at once. Just like CJ would’ve done. It is always a sad day made so much better by a house full of his closest friends! He never knew how lucky he was to have those friends! Not many people can say their friends would show up even after they die…

monday3

The rest of the week we’ve been snuggling close, playing as hard as El feels like, making muffins and yummy snacks, and just soaking up time as much as we can!

The rest of the week I’ll be busy working and preparing for our big webinar Thursday night! Have you registered yet?

But enough about me? What have you been up to?
