I thought it would be fun just to share ten random facts with you. I’ve done a lot of soul searching over the past year and self-development and essentially establishing a clearer vision for my life.
But some things remain the same…
I am highly allergic to mayonnaise. I can eat it, but if it touches my skin I break out into hives instantly. I was always terrified that while I was sleeping at a sleepover or camp that girls would spread it all over my face. Kind of like how they would freeze panties and cover your face in shaving cream?
I shave my legs every single night. Cannot stand to get into bed with scratchy legs. Ick. Clearly, I have some sort of sensory issue. Trust me, I’ve tried – only to get out of bed at 2am and shave because I seriously cannot sleep with itchy legs.
I am also a freak when it comes to the floors in my house. I find myself vacuuming at least one room every day. I cannot stand to see dirt or crumbs on the floor. And we live in the land of dirt and muck. We don’t have a paved driveway, garage, or even a real sidewalk to our front door, so there is always tons of wet grass and leaves. Drives me bonkers.
My husband was my very first real boyfriend and date. We met three days after I turned 18, and have not gone a day without each other since. Well, we’ve spent plenty of days apart thanks to the Army, but never a day without talking. I even quit my dream school, that I worked my butt off to get into to move to CT with him when I was 19. Some people thought I was crazy. I’ll share our love story soon. It’s pretty incredible.
I have battled my weight my entire life. I have always been overweight except 2006, when I lost 60# before our wedding. Then, I gained 70# when I was pregnant and am officially 80# overweight now… ugh. This is THE year I’m losing it for good. So sick of it holding me back from things I want to do. (more on this later)
I am currently writing two eBooks, but I’m kind of at a stand-still, because the idea overwhelms me!
My alcoholic drink of choice would a Maker and Diet coke. Very rarely drink anything, but given the choice, that would be it.
I am totally afraid of heights. I have no idea why, but they freak me out. As do high porches or decks that you can see through, and sometimes even stairs like that.
I am a Baptized believer, and don’t remember ever not going to church. My faith is about the only thing that has remained constant in my life. I thank my Mom for that, daily. She was an incredible influence. I remember many times waking up in the morning and finding her on the porch with her Bible and daily devotionals. She taught Sunday School (the 2-3 year olds were her favorite), as long as she could, and always made sure we were surrounded by great Christian women. Such a great example, and something I hope Elizabeth remembers about me.
and last, but not least…
I am a total organize junky. I haven’t posted a lot about it yet, but I cannot function in chaos. I make list after list and am constantly reevaluating systems and time.
So, now that you know all about me, tell me about YOU! What do you do? Do you have kids? Where do you live?

I love your random facts!! they tell so much about you! thanks for sharing!!
You’re very welcome! Thanks for commenting!
Love this!! Thank you for sharing with all of us.
You sound like somebody that I would love to know in real life and am happy that I get the pleasure of reading your words day to day. We share a lot of similarities – aside from the mayonnaise thing – but in fact, my husband and I share a pretty incredible love story as well.
We have been married for (let me count on my fingers here a sec) 17 years – together almost 19 and I was the one that enlisted in the Air Force. He was/is a truck driver (although I am no longer enlisted) and he followed me to my permanent base in Dayton, Ohio (Wright Patterson AFB) and we got married. He is also my first love but we didn’t meet until I was about 20. I am not 38 and he is 42 and we still love each other very much. We have 1 son – Koby – who is 16 and just an absolute joy. So proud of him. He was born on Wright Patterson AFB. We were able to take a trip back this past summer and show him where we lived and where he was born. It was pretty neat.
Thanks so much for sharing! That does sound neat
Hello,
I am a nail technician and am very passionate about what I do. I still am finding my place and establishing a clientele. I have had a rough road to where I’m at now but I think I am finally able to say that I feel like I am able to put down my roots in my current place.
I am blessed with 3 daughters, a 15 year old, Abigail, 12 year old, Alyssa and a 21 month old, Lizzy, who keeps us on our toes.
I live in a small town in Ohio, east of Columbus. I commute to Columbus for my job and love it.
Excited to hear that you are finding yourself! no greater feeling…
I am a therapist, I prefer to work with kiddos. I love helping them adjust, function and succeed in life. My therapist is my 12 yr old yorkie, he understands how I feel. Amazingly. It’s true there is no greater bond than man and his dog. Makeup is my vice, I prefer Mac but really anything from sephora will do. I read maganizes from back to front. Ambien is a life saver. I too can not stand to go to bed without saving my legs, I feel like a cricket. My next major purchase is hopefully a new car, I want a land rover lr2.
Totally agree about the dog!
Love this! The things we choose to share in these kinds of posts can tell so much.
I have six kids, I live in Texas, I love, love, love baseball. I can’t wait for Blissdom. My favorite color is purple but the color clothing I have the most of is green.
Yay! Super excited to meet you!
So many similarities, I met my honey when I was 18 and he was my first real boyfriend. We currently live just outside of Charleston with our 3 daughters. I also lost my mom on 12/22 but back 07. I’m lucky enough that I get to be a stay at home mommy (which I love) but my dream is to write a book. I started to make bread and other bake goods from scratch so my girls would have the same memory of me that I have of my mom. Now I make almost everything homemade
That’s awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!
My second daughter has that same skin thing, but with ranch dressing! I had never heard of it with anyone else.
Short and sweet version of me~ IF my first husband were still alive, October 30 would be our 20th anniversary, but we only actually made it to #16. He and I had seven children together (ages 20 to 4). God did not want me widowed for long because I am getting married again on April 6th which will bring me two bonus children and we are all excited about it. I teach a 1st/2nd grade class at a homeschool enrichment program two days a week, work childcare at my church when they need me, and the rest of the time I am loving on my top ten favorite people. We live in various locations (LOL) for the time being in the DFW area.
Glad to know I’m not the only one… But it is definitely strange… Thanks for sharing about you!
Hi, I love reading your posts & following you on FB. I am excited to be doing the weight loss challenge with you! I am 26 (27 in July) married for 5 almost 6 years and together 8. My husband was my third boyfriend neither of the others being that serious and we haven’t spent much time apart. We have two children- Nikolai 2 and Eli 1 -with another (our last) due in May! Until we had children I was an Administrative Assistant and loved it! Now I am a stay at home Mom who runs her own business, is really getting into crafting, and works for family. I wouldn’t trade a minute of my life.
Oh and I am highly allergic to Nickel and Latex.
I am super excited for you, too!! Sounds like we have a lot in common.
thanks for sharing. love all the help you provide with cleaning and organization. Became a dad again after 19 years..So all the help is appreciated.
You are VERY welcome…
Ten things about me…. I am a miracle baby, my dad had the mumps as a kid, so I am the only one. I love horses, they are beautiful majestic animals. I don’t like sticky things, floors, steering wheels, makes my skin crawl. I am married.. For 32 years, we have 1 girl- 29 and 1 boy 27. I work for a school district as the site computer geek. I Love what I do, it is really a challenge sometimes.
Miracle baby… that’s amazing!
I’m 26, will be 27 this summer. I married my first love. We met when I was just turning 15!! We celebrated 6 years of marriage this past October. We have two cute kiddo’s. A girl that just turned 4 and a little boy that is 2.5. I was a medical office assistant before being a stay at home Mom. I studied business and information technology. My husband is a fisherman on his father’s boat. He went to college for his captains papers. We live on a small fishing island and enjoy living a simple lifestyle.
Thank you so much for sharing! My husband does IT.
I’m a total list maker also. I get teased about it at work, but it keeps me from stressing out about forgetting something. My husband and I met on a blind date. It took me three other times running into him after our first date to finally give him my number and I’m SO glad I did. We have three boys, each spaced 5 years apart, and our middle son has high-functioning autism. When I was five, I was tested for allergies and they said that I’m allergic to everything except for food. Thank goodness, because I would be a very unhappy person! I loved reading your “about me”!
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. Love your blog, and getting to knowing more about you, too!
