freezer cooking {part 6}

Here you go: the long awaited Part Six of Freezer Cooking.

It gets harder and harder to think of new meals for you all. Especially since I love all of the ones from the first 5 posts. I have 27 total dinner recipes and 10 toddler meals in the first 5 posts for you! Be sure to check them all out here

If you haven’t tried this yet, I really don’t know what you’re waiting on! This time I spent $110, took 2 hours, and had 14 meals prepared with very little mess! It saves me so much time and energy during the week! Plus, as I’m traveling more, it’s reassuring to know my family will still have healthy meals prepared without me!

For part 6, I am reviewing Mama and Baby Love’s new revised eBook! If you’ve already purchased the first one, this is the same book, but so much better!

cookbook-cover

It is a complete beginner’s guide to real food! It is chock full of freezer meals for your crockpot and also 1 skillet meals you can freeze ahead! All of the recipes are 95% grain-free, gluten-free and diary-free. This book is also super Paleo friendly.

  • This revised book has an updated grocery lists that is easier to read by grouping each item by meat, veggies, dairy, etc.
  • A professional chef gave his stamp of approval and also wrote the forward for the new book.
  • There are 15 new recipes.  10 are slow cooker and 5 are one dish freezer recipes.
  • The Real Food chapter has been beefed up to explain exactly what healthy really means and what real food really means.
  •
  • You can find Mama and Baby Love here: blog | eBook | facebook
  •
  • Stephanie included labels in the book, but I have had a falling out with my printer, so I used my go-to sharpie! This is the first step after shopping and gathering your supplies!

The next step is chopping your veggies and placing them in the appropriate bags! Real Food should be colorful and shouldn’t have 35 different ingredients within 1 product! I only used 2 cans (cranberry sauce) in all 14 meals!!! Amazing, right?!? NO condensed soups, bpa, hfcs, msg, or other yucky products for my family!

I prepared the chicken parmesan, pork roast with butternut squash, fajitas, cranberry chicken, orange beef stew, and Italian Beef! So far, I love them all!

And this is ALL of my mess! 2 cutting boards, couple of measuring spoons, knives, a bowl! 14 meals! 1 mess! This definitely saves me time each night after dinner!

  3. I absolutely LOVE these recipes and overall this idea in general!!! It has revolutionized the way I feed my family. I work from home, but am required to be out about 3 evenings per week. This not only saves me money in my grocery bill, but it allows for foods to NOT go to waste waiting for me to cook them and keeps my time investment minimal! I can pop these in the crock when I leave to drop my daughter at school and know that if I am not going to be home, they will eat well, but even when I AM home, I can work right up until family time without concerning myself over fixing dinner at the right time! It is ready when we are, everyday!! Thank you a million times over for introducing me to this idea!

  4. I just want to say that I am super jealous of your handwriting! haha I write worse then my 10 year old brother!

Thank you for the recipes and sharing your blog. I am having shoulder surgery in a couple of weeks and was worried about cooking for my family. These sound like great suggestions for making it easier to prepare healthy dinners in advance. I’m planning to prepare ahead for about 2 weeks and I just made my grocery list. The budget looks reasonable too.

  9. These look so tasty, especially with our busy household. Have you tried the 6 meals that you have shown prepped for the freezer and do they taste fresh and full of flavor?

Is there printable recipe cards for part 6? Your link just takes me to the recipe book ordering page, but I would really like to try a recipe first.

I don’t know how to say this but to just come out with it. I think I love you. hahaha. You have put together what I’m trying to do now and I can’t say how excited I am to try these. You not only took pictures but you explain it all and put in a printable version for us? How cool are you!?!?! That takes so much time and I’m so appreciative. On top of all this time you’re saving me you also make them healthy recipes which is very important to me. Thanks so much! You’re awesome!

Hi, love love love this website and all youve done. Im going shopping today and going to try some ofbthese recipes and freezer cooking, lol. Question, can you freeze just about any crockpot meal and is there certain guidelines to follow? We have a few fave meals id like to incorporate

  15. I love all of this! I actually do my freezer cooking a little differently. Instead of setting aside 1 day or a weekend, I take advantage of 30 minute chunks of time throughout the week to do batches. One day I’ll do ground beef meals, another day I’ll do chicken, etc. Your recipes are great for that too. Thank you SO much for sharing. I’m new to being gluten free (long story, 10 years of trying to figure out what was up) and adjusting to what to make for dinner has been surprisingly difficult. I’m probably going to link to your posts on my blog because I’m so happy with what I’ve found. :-)
I’ve been on a mission to print out as many gluten free freezer recipes as I can (actually, I would’ve made all of these recipes prior to having to eliminate gluten if I’d found them then!). I printed out as many of your recipes as I could find and was wondering if the recipes in this post are just available in the e-book or can we print them? I’m going to be so bummed if I can’t get that Chicken Parm recipe on here!

What kind of marker do you use? My sharpie ended up smearing all over the counters as I was stacking the bags up for the freezer. Also I have noticed that some of my meals from a few weeks ago ( I am new to this) already have some internal frost. What do you find the best method for getting the air out? I try and try to squeeze it all out. I work such an atypical schedule and it varies from week to week so this is great for my family. I know trial and error will work out most of this. :)
