In case you weren’t aware, I have a major spray paint addiction! I also live in a house that hasn’t been updated since the early 90s, except for the major renovations (floors, walls, lights, etc) we did really fast in order to move in while I was very pregnant.
We are so blessed to have this temporary home. While we are renting it from my aunt and uncle, we have done quite a bit to it! But there are still a lot of little minor things that could use updating!
This week I’m working on the master bathroom! I’ll do the whole reveal on how we’re doing it for $75 or less, but today I just want to pop in with a couple of things that simply painting can improve!
Maybe if we had an unlimited supply of money, I would completely replace everything… but probably not. My motto is kind of “make do with what you have”! Definitely not the same motto I’ve always had, but part of the changes we’ve made this year is in the way we think!
We did replace the globes when we first moved in because 1 was broken. They both had mauve and gold flowers on them. Yesterday, I took the whole sconces (and medicine cabinet between the two we have) off the wall and sprayed them with rustoleums metallic charcoal. No more rusty fake brass!
The air vent had seen better days too! One quick coat of the same spray paint made all the difference!
The only thing we did to this bathroom before we moved in was rip up the carpet (yes, carpet in the bathroom) and replace the sub floor. It was really wavy. Because we had no money, or time, we put down cheap stick on tiles. After 2 years, they have separated for whatever reason (maybe because we still don’t have baseboards to help hold them in place?). Today I decided to paint the spaces with plain white paint. The same paint I used to repaint the trim and door. I took a foam brush, smudged it in all of the cracks, and then took a damp wash cloth and wiped it off the tiles! Still not perfect, but big difference, huh?
I’m excited to show you the whole makeover soon! For now, my break is over and I need to hang the new shelves!
Hope you’re having a great day!

Love it all…can’t wait to see the whole reveal!
