Truth is: We live in the kind of town where you may not recall what you did last week, but every one else surely does!
Truth is: I grew up here. Lived in the same home, on the land my dad grew up on until I moved away at the age of 19.
Truth is: I hated the place back then, couldn’t wait to break free.
Truth is: I’m still not 100% fond of it today, but it is where my family is. Andrew’s mom is now close by, and Andrew’s dad usually comes for a few months during the summer (he’s on his way now).
Truth is: To me, home = family. And this is where they are.
Truth is: It’s not all bad. The free petting zoos (aka our families farms) are nice entertainment for a little girl obsessed with “moooos”
Truth is: I’d still love to have a real grocery store and Target within 25 minutes of my house.
Truth is: It is not the same without Mama and C.J. here.
Truth is: I wish every day with all of my might that they were here to see this little girl grow up and witness her zest for life (and cows).
Truth is: they’re not, but I don’t doubt for a second that they’re missing it.
Happy Monday, friends. We have a pretty busy week planned for us. Elizabeth’s birthday is in less than 2 weeks! I am super excited about that! My father-in-law will be here in a few days! Please pray for his safety as he’s driving from AZ to TN (stopping in TX and FL to see his brothers). And don’t dare tell him he’s too old to be driving that many miles alone at the age of 73. He’ll hear nothing of it. I think things are finally getting worked out here on the blog. Just 3 more things to add and we will be set! I cannot believe how fast this little blog has grown. I love you all, seriously! Which reminds me, if you’re interested in donating to the 10,000 follower giveaway read this. As a fun side note, I am now offering advertising on the sidebar! You can go here to read more about that!
Have a great week, y’all!

We live in a small town, too, which makes me laugh sometimes because, back when I was your age
, I couldn’t wait to move to a Big City. Now? Yeah, having neighbors who know your business — and never, EVER forget it — can be a burden. But I guess they’ve decided we’re one of them, after all, given how they’re not outside my house with pitchforks and torches.
Thanks for your comment, isn’t it funny how our views change as we get older!
I like to think of it as my mind expanding to keep up with my waistline.
I am from Nebraska, so almost everyone thinks that IS where I
live. But, being perfectly honest, I would love to live somewhere like that – somewhere we could have a cow (or 50), some chickens, a giant garden. My grandparents both had that, and I will always regret that we “sold the farm”.
