Happy Earth Day

Are you making any changes for your family this year?

There are a ton of things you can do to make our Earth a healthier place, there are lots of things you could be advocates for. I encourage everyone to do something safe and healthy for our beautiful planet today! But I know a lot of us are very limited with our time, or don’t really have a place we could plant another tree.

But, One easy way to go green in you home is by switching brands!

You already know that I swear by them!!

And here is why: They are totally cost effective, natural and they actually WORK!

I made the switch to all natural cleaners when I was pregnant with Elizabeth. I didn’t have a whole lot of control of all of the other things going on in my life at the time, but I knew I could control 1 thing: what I exposed her to!

Did you know that your unborn baby has toxins already flowing through her little body? It’s true! In this groundbreaking study by the Environmental Working Group, more than 200 toxic chemicals were identified in the umbilical cord blood of unborn babies.

I believe (and it has been proven) that all of the chemicals we subject ourselves to on a daily basis have an effect not only on our bodies but on the earth as well. As a parent it is my duty to protect my children from as much of them as possible. I do not want my daughter, or my husband, or even my puppy exposed to proven carcinogens that are in your favorite household cleaners (ie. windex, lysol, comet, scrubbing bubbles, bleach).

I picked a brand from the grocery store. It worked okay, I didn’t love the results, and I didn’t love the smell, and I definitely didn’t love the price, but I loved that it was natural. I gave vinegar a try. It corroded my tub drains, smelled terrible, and also wasn’t effective.

Then, when Elizabeth had just turned one, I finally found a brand I loved whole-heartedly. So much so, that I decided I would devote my life to sharing it with others. My future, and the future of my family is safe and well-paved because of Shaklee. I have shared about all of that before though.

I’m not telling you this just to sell my product. I’m telling you this because I truly want to educate other Moms and help establish a cleaner, healthier world for our babies to grow up in. You can choose to do your own research if you don’t believe me. But I promise, if you do – the results you find will break your heart.
