Earning an Income from Home: Part 1 {My Story}

There are several ways to earn an income while staying at home, but I am going to share the way I KNOW how! I am sure you know by now, that I am completely in love with Shaklee’s products but what I don’t talk about enough is the amazing earning opportunity it has provided me and so many others (in fact, today one of my mentors qualified for their SECOND $25,000 bonus – seriously)! I do not want to shove Shaklee down your throat, it is not why I started this blog, but I have gotten a lot of emails and questions about it, so I thought I would try to address them all in a 3 part series!

I have written a couple of short posts about this in the past, how I got started, what I love about it, etc, but today I want to share with you something more personal;

my story

I knew once I had a baby that I would want to stay home with her/him. With that desire, and the tragic turns of events that endured during my pregnancy, ends became tougher and tougher to meet. Prior to finding Shaklee I had submitted hundreds of resumes and went on a handful of interviews, but they all led to nothing. We trusted in God’s timing and plan knowing He would continue to provide somehow, and He did. I continued to submit resumes and look for jobs, but still, nothing. Then, in August, a blogger that I’ve followed for a long time posted about an income opportunity from home, and the video in it made me literally say, “yes” out loud, numerous times. I hesitantly emailed her. She replied very quickly, and we talked for a while. Things clicked right away and I took the leap of faith and signed up to be a Distributor! It was August 27, 2011.

I had previously heard about their products as I searched for all natural products when our daughter was first born. I knew that I didn’t want her exposed to harmful chemicals and fumes. I checked out Shaklee, and all I saw was the $10 price tag. I moved on. I started purchasing other natural cleaners with coupons.They were okay. It wasn’t until I committed to becoming a Shaklee Distributor that I realized that $10 actually accounted for what would be over 4,000 bottles of Windex!

I immediately loved the products. I told Andrew that night that even if I never made a dime, I would never use anything else. Little did I know I would receive my first bonus check THAT month.

I was already passionate about healthy living, and teaching others to do the same, because I was not raised knowing a healthy lifestyle. And now, I had an even better way of sharing and teaching!

Truthfully, even after doing all of the free online training and listening to our business coaches for hours, I was skeptical of how I would start earning a real income. Then, in October I had the chance to actually meet and talk to our Owner and CEO, Roger Barnett and his beautiful wife, Sloan.

I was surrounded my hundred and hundreds (seriously, there was not even standing room left) of men and women who have succeeded BIG time through Shaklee. Some of them had been doing it for over thirty years, and some of them, like me, had been doing it for less than 3 months, but they were all earning BIG checks. I’m talking, over $100,000 in their first 15 months with our fast track program.

Andrew and I left on fire that night for Shaklee. It was incredible, the passion Roger and Sloan have for our business, and the energy that my “co-workers” held, cannot even be described.

In the months since, my business has continue to increase. Obviously, the more hours I work, the more sales I get, but simply working through naptimes and a few late nights, has been good enough for our family.

Now, I get to stay at home with Elizabeth and never miss a thing! I am now able to add to our family financially, and still have dinner on the table when Andrew gets home. I am so grateful! I am on my way to earning a trip to San Fran, Vegas, AND The Mayan Riviera this year (for free with my family)! With Shaklee, you can earn trips, cars and other bonus too! So exciting!

Besides all this, I love knowing that I am making a future for my family and helping others do the same! This is something that I will always have! I can continue to build each year as my family’s schedule allows me!

It is a dream come true and now I can take time for the important things in life!

Plus, I LOVE knowing that I am sharing great, safe products and a strong business! I trust Shaklee and I really feel like I am doing my part by sharing it with others! AND I never need to ask people to buy something that they are not already buying and consuming! I am just showing them safer and healthier products to use instead…products that help their families, our environment and wallets!
